Esteemed Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Dies at the Age of Sixty.

Stateside entertainer Finn, who featured in iconic TV shows such as Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California recently after undergoing cancer treatment since 2022, per reports.

"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his relatives said in a announcement.

They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".

An Extensive Career on Screen

Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.

He also had a recurring role on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.

He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, depicting a party host famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.

Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several well-known programs, including:

  • King of Queens
  • "Friends"
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

Finn was perhaps best known for playing Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight seasons over nearly a decade.

His work in movies encompass "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

A Life in Improv

Away from his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was part of a comedy group of six known as Beer Shark Mice.

"He taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils during his career and it's nearly impossible to find a person anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.

Paying homage, peer Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, making those around him better and funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he posted online.

Pat Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his family.
