Former Physician Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Involving 38 Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have announced that a former physician now faces charges for carrying out assaults against 38 individuals who were patients.
Details of the Serious Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
One deputy chief prosecutor commented, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
These allegations follow what police described as a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.

The charging documents outline the 45 charges he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
