Iran Reports Attack on US Base in Bahrain, Amid Regional Retaliatory Strikes.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a "massive" and continuing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone near the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any damage is not yet known and the United States has not commented.
Missile Defenses Activated
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - reported they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their territorial skies.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the offensive on Iran launched by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck areas linked to the the regime, with US President Donald Trump urging the Iranian people to revolt against the regime.

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military said it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the UAE said in a statement that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems responded to the missiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," the statement continued.
It said debris landed in a populated district in the capital, resulting in some material damage and fatalities.
The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
