Mystery Magenta Slime on Secluded Tasmanian Shoreline Raises Anxiety of Possible Algae Outbreak

Authorities in Tasmania are striving to determine a pink slime that has appeared on a isolated coast, with some scientists concerned it could be an phytoplankton proliferation.

Widespread Appearance Across Coastline

The pink-tinged sludge materialized across a section of a southern bay about 37 miles south of the city. A like substance has also been noted on sections of Little Roaring Beach and Little Taylors Bay.
