The Streaming Giant Chooses Ideal Performer for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Third Season
The Secret Organization is set to make a major impact in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, though the true confrontation won’t take place until season 3, and a adored, fan-favorite member has just been cast.
The streaming service revealed this week that the talented performer is now part of the One Piece cast for the third season and will portray Bon Clay. The role possesses the power to change into an exact copy of anyone they’ve made contact with with their right hand. Escola, who is identifies as non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will play a rendition of that role reimagined as gender non-binary, rather than as a drag performer, in the real-life adaptation, differing from the source material and animated series.
Escola is joined by multiple recently announced actors tasked with bringing the group to reality, including leader the main antagonist, portrayed by Joe Manganiello, Sophia Anne Caruso as a key member, and an accomplished actor, who is also part of the cast as King Nefertari Cobra of the desert kingdom.
Even though the role is a important part of Baroque Works, the character won’t appear until One Piece the third season. With the second season set to cover the Little Garden arc, this marks a major departure in the schedule of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could signal further changes to the narrative framework.
Their mix of precise humor and emotional depth makes them a standout choice for the character. Along with their latest vocal work in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and several accolades for creating and performing in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, showcasing the adaptability they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s highly regarded roles.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece show is due to premiere for its season two on March 10th, 2026.
