Zohran Mamdani Promises a 'Dawn' for New York City in Maiden Speech
During an initial day in the mayor's office, Zohran Mamdani pledged to “reimagine” New York City, ushering in “a fresh chapter” and an ambitious beginning to his tenure.
An Unprecedented Leader
The young figure, who was a relatively obscure state assemblyman, has become the city's first mayor of South Asian descent. He additionally marked a milestone by being the first to be sworn in using the Qur'an.
